A new one for Hannaford Fresh magazine, on the subject of unconventional breakfasts - shrimp and kimchi noodles for breakfast anyone?
I spent lockdown in my home county of Devon and, like many, found solace in nature. This pattern is inspired by the hedgerows of early spring.
A personal piece. Trying to expand my portfolio of work for middle-grade fiction covers as this is an area I’d like to work more in.
My latest one for US supermarket Hannaford, about getting creative with s’mores ingredients!
This personal piece is a homage to my favourite film that I’ve seen this year, Portrait of a Lady on Fire.
My illustration for the March issue of Hannaford supermarket’s magazine. This one accompanied a piece on getting through the winter months with a slow cooker full of bone broth.
Two illustrations for cookie packaging for Norwegian brand Eldorado. I loved working on these Scandi scenes! Packaging design by Strømme Throndsen Design.
Some illustrations I created for the US health and fitness magazine Experience Life for an article on financial stress. Art direction by Lydia Anderson.
A self-directed cover for one of my favourite books. Rock Crystal tells the story two siblings who get caught up in a snowstorm on their journey from their grandparents house to their home in a neighbouring Alpine village. I just love the descriptions in this simple story…
“Among the high mountains of our country there is a little village with a small but needle-fine church spire. Conspicuous above the green of abundant fruit-trees, this spire - because the slates are painted vermilion - can be seen far and wide against the faint blue of the mountains"
A bit of personal work - a cover for The Snow Geese by William Fiennes. It tells the story of the writer’s journey from Texas to the Arctic Tundra following the migration of snow geese.
Another one for Hannaford Supermarket’s magazine. The piece was about a woman collecting recipes in a scrapbook for their January issue.
The houses of parliament and Big Ben for the Fabian Review. The winter issue was focused on post-election analysis.
A personal piece inspired by the film Midsommar that came out earlier this year. This has been in my head for a while so it’s nice to make it a reality.
Following on from my covers for Sophie Kinsella’s standalone novels, I was delighted to be commissioned again by Penguin to create artwork for the reissue of her hugely popular Shopaholic series . Including the next instalment of the Becky Bloomwood story Christmas Shopaholic which is published on the 17th October and comes in a special edition with candy cane sprayed edges! As always, it was brilliant to work with Richard Ogle at Penguin on the series.
A bit of personal work inspired by Derek Jarman’s cottage and garden in Dungeness, Kent. It looks like such a beautiful and interesting landscape, hope I can go and visit someday.
My cover for The Runaways. A YA novel set during WW2, it tells the story of three evacuee’s escaping war torn London. Published by Scholastic this coming October.
A personal piece - a cover for August is a Wicked Month by Edna O’Brien. It’s set over a few weeks of summer in the French Riviera.
My cover for the summer edition of the Fabian Review, the magazine of the Fabian society. This issue focuses on The Green New Deal.
