I always love getting commissioned for anything landscape or wildlife related - topics close to my heart, so it was lovely to make some artwork for both the BBC Wildlife and Simple Things magazine this summer…

This illustration accompanied a piece by Lucy Lapwing on the subject of human connection and the role it plays in conservation for the September issue of BBC Wildlife magazine

This piece for Simple Things illustrated an article on all you need to know about bogs, fens and marshes. It features the Dagenham Idol, a prehistoric sculpture found buried in peat.

The Name Game - Beth O'Leary

Delighted to share my cover artwork for bestselling author Beth O’Leary’s latest novel, Published by Quercus Books! It was also wonderful to contribute endpapers and a map for the interior of the book.

Countryfile - Ghosts of the Farm

I loved creating this piece to sit alongside an article for BBC’s Countryfile Magazine, by author and nature writer Nicola Chester. She reflected on her time working on a farm and the women who had stewarded the land before her.

Major Arcana Exhibition

This was my piece for the fantastic Major Arcana exhibition that took place back in November. 22 Bristol illustrators created artworks for each of the Major Arcana tarot cards, and I got The Moon!

RSPB Annual Report

I’m a big supporter of the RSPB and the amazing they work they do so I was thrilled to be asked to illustrate the cover of their 2024/5 annual report.

The cover was on the theme of peatland restoration and they wanted it to feature some of the species found in these special habitats including bog bean, sundew, curlew and water vole.

Madison Magazine

My contribution to Madison Magazine’s June issue. This illustration accompanied a column by Hanns Kuttner about his wife’s cancer diagnosis in the midst of a house move.

RAND Europe Annual Report

I illustrated research group RAND Europe’s annual report, Spotlight

The client wanted montage style illustrations for the four teams featured in the report - Defence, Security and Justice; Science and Emerging Technologies; Education, Employment and Skills; Health and care -  as well as nine spot illustrations highlighting some of the research areas.

Map of Charleston

I was approached by Traveler of Charleston magazine with a commission to create a new, map of downtown Charleston, SC, after they had seen a previous map of the city I illustrated some years ago. The brief was for the map to be both decorative and usable for visitors.

…and I’m also delighted to reveal my eighth(!) cover for Ann Granger’s Campbell and Carter mystery series. Death on the prowl is the latest novel in the Cotswold-set crime series, published by Headline this December

World Illustration Awards

I was surprised and delighted that my entry for the 2024 World Illustration awards was ‘Highly Commended’! My illustrations for Waitrose’s Christmas Village pop up chocolate box came second in the Design Product and Packaging professional category. World Illustration Awards Shortlist

I was really delighted to find out one of my projects has been shortlisted for the World Illustration awards! The Waitrose Winter Village Chocolate box was one of thirteen entries in the Design Product and Packaging Professional category to be selected for the awards, that are presented by the AOI and Directory of Illustration. Many thanks to my agents at The Artworks and the Waitrose design team for the commission.

Weekend Walks - London

I illustrated the cover and interior illustrations for a walking guide to London for Pocket Mountains. The pocket-sized guidebook is fully illustrated with over 30 full page illustrations and spots. The book is available now from Pocket Mountains online store

Countryfile Cover

I made four illustrations depicting different UK summer holiday destinations for the cover of Countryfile magazine, and I animated them for the online version. AD by Annie Sanderson
